Time flies when you’re having fun, and I’ve had lots of it during this year. As we bid farewell to 2023, I thought it would be a good idea to wrap it up and reflect on how it went for me, especially in terms of community and tech interests.
Highlights
I Went Public!
By far, the best thing I did during 2023 was going public. I spoke at many community events and amazing conferences (such as Swetugg and Stockholm Tech Show) and met fantastic people. I found myself in those activities, and I can only imagine it getting bigger and better. Here’s a list of my public appearances:
- (Online) Cloud Lunch & Learn: Fire & Forget with Azure Service Bus
- (On site, Copenhagen) Virtual Azure Community Day: How to lead an orchestra of Azure Functions
- (On site, Stockholm) Stockholm Tech Show 2023: How to monitor and manage a farm of robots using Azure IoT & Digital Twins
- (Online) Azure Skåne: Azure IoT Summer Bootcamp: 5-day virtual workshop
- (Online) Azure Back to School: How to lead an orchestra of Azure Functions
- (On site, Gothenburg) Swetugg Gothenburg 2023: How to monitor and manage a farm of robots using Azure IoT & Digital Twins
- (Online) Azure User Group Sweden: Fire & Forget with Azure Service Bus
I also blogged ~20 posts on this very blog and recorded 12 podcast episodes with amazing guests who love Azure as much as I do! Last but not least, my good friends at Azure Skåne welcomed me to the leader crew, which is amazing, and I can’t wait to help drive the community forward.
Azure IoT
One of my key focus areas was Azure IoT. I had the chance to explore real-time data processing with Azure Streaming Jobs and how it’s revolutionizing data analysis strategies. These tools’ flexibility and power have proven indispensable in various applications, demonstrating Azure’s continual evolution.
Cost-Saving Strategies with Durable Functions
2023 also brought me deeper into the world of Azure Durable Functions. I shared techniques to optimize costs without sacrificing performance, a crucial aspect for developers and businesses alike. These strategies not only save money but also enhance efficiency in cloud operations. I applied these learnings both at work and in my MSc dissertation.
Insights from Azure IoT Summer Bootcamp
The Azure IoT Summer Bootcamp was a highlight. We had loads of fun and hopefully helped viewers learn something new. We even had a nice Q&A with Microsoft MVP Maria-Anastasia Moustaka!
Azure Triumphs: A Podcast Journey
My podcast, “Azure Triumphs: Stories of People Who Succeed with Azure,” featured enlightening conversations with industry experts. I truly loved hearing each story and received lots of positive feedback from listeners.
Personal Growth and Learning
Throughout the year, I’ve grown alongside these technologies. Each article and discussion has been a step forward in my tech journey, deepening my appreciation for the ever-evolving tech world.
Looking Ahead
As we step into 2024, I anticipate further advancements in cloud computing, AI, and IoT. I’ll continue to publish anything I find interesting and things I consider not to be common knowledge.
Thank You!
If you’ve read this far, thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to another year of learning, growth, and tech triumphs!
